HYPOTHYROIDIDM

HYPOTHYROIDISM: 
It is  a condition where the thyroid glands do not secrete adequate levels of thyroid hormones into the blood. Generally it is diagnosed by blood test T3,T4 and TSH. If these tests show an elevated thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and low leVels of thyroid hormones, like free T4, total T3, or free T3, it may be an indication that you have hypothyroidism. The normal range of total T3 (TT3) – 80-120 ng/dl , total T4 (TT4) – 5.4 – 11.5 mcg/dl and TSH- 0.5 -4.5 mIU/dl. 

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS :
Excessive sleep, muscle cramps, constipation, muscle cramps, dry skin, red spots on the sKins, fatigue, swelling in the legs, intolerance towards cold, and hair loss among others.The major symptoms seen in women is weight gain and irregular periods in women ,PCOS and infertility.
