Khalitya
Khalitya is a term used in practically all Ayurvedic texts to indicate hair loss. Khalitya is the result of pitta combining with vata or kapha dosha to ruin the hair. When khalitya is caused by vata, it creates burning on the scalp, pitta promotes sweating, and kapha causes thickness of the skin.
CAUSES :
1. Individuals with pitta prakriti have hair loss and greying as a result of the usna guna of pitta dosha.
2. Although ageing is genetically determined, lifestyle, nutritional habits, mental health, social and family life, and a variety of other environmental factors can all influence the ageing process, with unfavourable consequences leading to premature ageing.
3. Excessive sleep or avoiding sleep, sweating, eastern breeze or direct breeze, control of tars, presence of warms in side body, suppression of urges, avoiding the use of pillow, bath and oil anointing, always looking downwards, unaccustomed, unhealthy, vitiated or raw smell, too much speaking, etc. are all causative factors of shiroroga.
4. DANDRUFF- Hair fall is caused by deranged kapha and vayu, which causes minute cracks on the scalp that are dry and itchy.
5. Excessive combing during ritukal causes a child's hair to fall out.
6. Nutritional disorders, local skin disorders, endocrine diseases, post-acute sickness, stress, drugs, cosmetics, and genetic inclinations, according to modern research.
